I grew up having to wash my hands with soap before eating anything. No wiggle room.
In my house, I started off making my kids wash their hands before they ate. That lasted until my oldest was just a few years old and we had SO many battles we were fighting, so I let that one go. He's now a teenager, many younger kids B"H, and I always feel guilty that my kids don't have that habit. It seems so irresponsible that I didn't teach them that. (My mother still makes them wash at her house, and they roll their eyes and joke about it but do it anyway.)
Just wondering whether her way or my way is more the norm these days. Do they wash their hands? What about if you're not around? If they're grabbing a quick snack? If they're eating out of the house?
(For the purposes of this poll, purelle is the same as washing their hands.)

Only if they came in from somewhere. Otherwise I push hand washing after the bathroom and if they are home I assume they washed their hands from the bathroom recently.

I only make wash hands after bathroom or if hands are visibly dirty. And of course washing before bread.

I make my kids soap their hands right when they come home from school. They also soap their hands after coming in from playing outside. It’s hard to enforce it when we’re out but we definitely try.

At home, 100%.
If we were in a restaurant, no. I think they will touch more disgusting, germy stuff in a public bathroom than it's worth. I do carry hand sanitizer in my bag though that often gets passed around.

I have my kids wash their hands before eating if they were playing outside or doing a crafts. Otherwise I don't make a big deal.
