What do all the imas think abt the prices of donuts?
Are we being ripped off? And we being taken advantage of because it’s the season and why not charge as much as you can cuz everyone wants them and if they can get away with doing highway robbery then why not go for it?
I mean come onnnnnn $6,7,8,9,10 a donut?!?! How is that ok? Does it actually cost that much to make a donut?!
Happy Chanuka!!!!

If the costs of ingredients have gone up, and the cost of labor went up, then the costs of donuts will go up. But what kind of donuts are costing 10 dollars a piece? Are you taking the regular jam with confectioners sugar? Or do you mean those specialty foodie donuts? Because those are something else.

Regular donuts are $2-$3 a piece. Specialty donuts have specialty prices...

So you think $8-$10 a donut is justified for a 'specialty' donut, which is the same donut as the regular ones just a diff filling?

Hava Java donuts come from Zomicks bakery. We sell them to HJ wholesale at around .65 an empty shell and they fill, decorate and then sell at $12
That's highway robbery at it's finest.

No we are not being ripped off. There are cheaper options. You can find plain jelly donuts for $2 or possibly even less.
If you choose to get the interesting and exotic ones, you’re also choosing to pay those prices.
Donuts once a year are not something to pick a fight about.

Yes, it's justified just like the price for any other specialty items are justified. Fancy cakes & miniatures are also expensive. Donuts are no different. No one is forcing you to buy them. It's a luxury item, not a necessity. Stores can charge what they want for them.

So why don’t you or others buy plain donuts and inject them yourself with interesting filling and create toppings?

No, that's not highway robbery. Fancy donuts are not a necessity. They can charge whatever they wish.
