If it’s a bunch of ppl being laid off at the same time doesn’t matter if someone is pregnant.

Do you know if you will be eligible for unemployment?

It’s basically a new manager who is the nephew of the business owner. He has a mean streak and has managed to alienate most of the current team, so now he wants to “let us go” so he can bring in new people who don’t know how manipulative he can be. He has major protektzia with the business owner and the business owner takes his version of anything that happens as the truth.

We (the rest of the team) have had a good/neutral relationship with the boss and several of us have been there for a decade or more.

I'm so sorry. My company recently shut down, I was 4 months pregnant. BH I got hired elsewhere despite it but was pretty worried!

I lost 2 jobs in the past. Each one ultimately brought good things.
The first job that I lost, I found a new job quickly and they paid more per hour.
The second job that I lost was when I was pregnant and it was shortly before covid. I was able to take a very extended maternity leave and unemployment benefits were very generous at that point.

Try to have in mind that ultimately this is for the good. There's no way that you can predict how it will be for the good so it's stressful. But Hashem knows what he's doing and what's best for you.
