I washed on extra cycle, wash them weekly, wash the blankets (inserts) and pillows monthly, put in detergent and softener and use the dryer sheets. My sheets are 100% cotton and they still smell yuck after everything. What am I doing wrong? It’s bothering the fitted and the duvet as well as the pillow cases.

Maybe it's the specific fabric.

This.
Also, maybe stop using the dryer sheets and softener. They create a coating on the fabric and therefore the detergent can’t penetrate.
(Aside from the fact that they are toxic )

You can buy an anti bacterial additive for your washing machine, it kills all the bacteria in the clothes. I've started using it and my laundry feels so fresh, much better than the artificial smell from softener...
In the UK it's made by Dettol, not sure about other places.
