My daughter was planning to go to Ohr Chedva this summer, but recently a couple people told her that it's VERY into brand names. I know that there's a lot of gashmius in every camp, and everything is relative, but how accurate is this?
For reference, she went to Bnoseinu last summer and was content with the Lululemon bag we got her. Some girls had more and some had less, but everyone was nice and non-judgmental, and it was great. We would have sent her to Bnos, but she feels she'll be happier in a smaller camp.
B"H we can afford to get her whatever she needs, but it's just not our style (or hers) to have to stock up on Golden Goose shoes, Aviator Nation shirts, and Alo hair accessories to avoid being the odd one out.

I know people who go who don’t own any brands and they loved it. All camps have some kids into brands. I don’t think you can escape it.

My daughter went this past year for the first time. I had wanted to buy her at least one hard tail skirt and she was very adamant not to need one. She said there were lots of girls without. Obviously a lot of girls do but it isn’t needed and the emphasis is not on the brand names. Just my two cents

Also just to add, she had veja sneakers and she said next year she is bringing pumas because they are so much more comfortable. It’s so not a pressure.

Thanks for reassuring me. If we do want to "splurge" and and treat DD to one or two brand name items to help her feel good and fit in at Ohr Chedva, what would you recommend?

I don't know about ohr chedva specifically but I would assume having one brand name zip up sweatshirt would make sense..
