If I freeze a raw potato kugel before yomtov, will it fully bake in an oven on either 200/225? How many hours? Covered? Uncovered?

I've frozen raw batter and stuck right into oven to bake and the kugel comes out grey and not fluffy texture.

Bake it now on 500 for 1 hr, uncovered. Then freeze.
Defrost it covered on 200 overnight for delicious overnight kugel.
I make it like this all the time, comes out great.

Oooh this seems like a good idea. Do you add water or anything to it when defrosting? How many hours is overnight?
