I know bronchitis is going around, which is making me think to go, in case my 2 yo needs antibiotics. I just don’t have time to go, for the dr to say she has a cold!
Is there a way to know when it’s just a bad cough or if it’s in the lungs? She woke up from her coughing, it’s going on at least a week, and idk if it sounds like it’s coming from her throat or lungs
Tia!

So I should only go if she has fever? If not then it’s probably just a cold?

My kids don’t get fever so easily.
I’ve already had more than once bronchitis with a child, and pneumonia with another with zero fever, reg 98.6 temperature.
As annoying as it is to go, I say rather safe than sorry.

When it’s going strong after a week it’s time to go and rule out infections

Have you tried a vaporizer? Use with vicks. Keep out of children's reach. If not possible a humidifier could help. You don't have to worry about bacteria with a vaporizer. Tried home remedies like hot chicken soup, warm drinks? If all that doesn't work I go to the doctor for a nebulizer.

You shouldn’t be waiting until you need nebulizers.

Only after trying natural options and vaporizer does my childrens' doctor prescribed a vaporizer. It doesn't have to be severe. The doctor recomend it over, over the counter cough medicine. Which he does'nt recommend for children. The cold doesn't have to reach the level of bronchitis to get a prescription.
