I'm BH 8 months pregnant. My doctor recommended fasting with IV. Anyone with experience? Is it uncomfortable? Painful? Will I still feel like I'm fasting?

Ask a Rav if you should. Many hold shiurim is preferable to Iv.

It doesn't hurt much- like a blood test when it goes in. Then it's ok. You still feel like you're fasting. Just less blacking out/headachy.

My rav said the same. I was severely dehydrated and I was told shiurim over IV.

It’s uncomfortable since you need to put in the hep lock from before YT. It can be painful if it moves out of place and needs to be reinserted on YT which happens. You will still feel like you’re fasting just without the dizziness and other symptoms of dehydration.

Putting it back in on shabbos or yom tov is worse than eating in terms of muktza (it’s a deoraysa to draw blood if not for a choleh). The only heter if it’s in before
