If you work and fill out timesheets, not clock in from an app or fingerprint:
If let's say you normallt start 9am and show up 905, do you write 9 or 905 on your sheet?

Why would you round unless they tell you to?
Saying 9 when you showed up at 9 is being dishonest. And theft from the company.
Unless you were specifically by the administration (and not some random person who trained you in) told to round to nearest 15 minute increment and therefore at 8:55 would also say 9am.

I would just ask your boss. It may be annoying to them to calculate the 5 minutes.

I ask my employees to calculate exact hours but I will typically round up to the nearest half hour. If every day they round by 10 minutes they would end up getting paid a few extra hours but I am not going to pay them for 14 hours and 21 minutes, I would do 14.5

I used to do it exact 9:07. I was told by my manager that it was too hard to calculate my hours and I should always round to the nearest 5 min. So 9:00-9:02 was 9:00 and 9:03-9:05 was 9:05.
Unless they tell you to round, you really should put exact. It's the honest thing to do.
