Has anyone been successful at this while nursing ? The book seems to be geared more towards bottle fed babies.
I’d love to hear success stories and hacks ! Thanks !

Once baby is sleeping 12 hours I lost most of my milk. I also work full time so was only nursing once or twice a day and pumping other 2 xs. It's so worth it
Method really works

I read somewhere that it works around 25% of the time.

Yes
My baby doesn’t sleep every night, if something is bothering him (sick, teething etc) BUT for the most part has been sleeping straight since about 3/4 months
I breastfeed

I did it with all my kids and lots of friends as well. I don't know anyone that it didn't work unless they were too chicken and didn't follow everything

I tried it with my youngest, who was almost exclusively breastfed. It worked to some extent, but I noticed a couple of things that couldn’t work for me at all times.

Firstly, you need to be extremely consistent and when also dealing with a family, who each have their own needs, focusing on feedings and holding off sleep time can be very challenging. Perhaps when you have help in the form of a nurse, it can be implemented a lot more accurately.

Additionally, I’m not sure if it had anything to do with the above-mentioned methods, but as soon as I moved my baby out of my room, at 4m, he gave me a lot longer stretches at night but nowhere near 12 hours.

im excited to give it a try, due in march. even if my baby does a 5-6 hr stretch it will be better than its older siblings.

So how did you do it ? Meaning how do I know if my baby is taking 8 oz if she’s breastfeeding ? My other question (where I’ve had issue in the past) is what happens when the baby wakes and it’s not feeding time. I know the author provides a toolbox of things to stall the baby but I haven’t found them successful …. What worked for you

In terms of breasfeeding amounts, we assume baby will eat as much as it needs and ur body will provide. Generally if baby is content, we can safely assume that thats true.

As far as baby waking up before feeding time, thats where it becomes incredibly challenging.
Picture dinner time, all ur kids need hands on help with their various different activities, dinner needs to be served and also, your baby is hungry but you cant feed him yet because it’s not time yet, or if he was fed, you need to keep him awake for longer etc.
Unless you have an extra pair of hands to help you, it’s really challenging to stay consistent.

You don’t know how much she’s taking during the day but I aimed to have 20-25 minute nursing session.

At night I fed him when he woke but every few days I lessened it by 2 minutes or so.
I found he generally woke around the same times every night. I think I still fed if it wasn’t unless it was really really early or late, then I tried to just shush back to sleep
