Hey does anyone have information on the community? DH got offered to come check out the Kollel and we would come for a Shabbos but just curious if anyone could provide feedback about the community before we get that far… I don’t know anyone who lives there.
Is the school system healthy? What type is the kollel families?

We know a bunch of ppl who’ve lived there. It’s a wonderful warm place with nice people. Solid families. I’ve been there a few times it’s just nice place to visit. Sorry don’t have much more to offer but you can totally call current kollel families and get a feel. The kollel apt are usually very nice.

I was there this winter for a Shabbos and met some of the people. Really sweet and nice warm welcoming community. Very Heimish, they have a nice size school I think there were like 100+ kids in the girls school with more in the younger classes than older. They all seemed like one big happy family. They had a community event the week I was there so met a large chunk of the community. A lot of them commute often to Lakewood / Tristate area. I’d suggest going down for a Shabbos to get a feel for it. (We actually stayed at Chabad and ate by Chabad, but I’m sure if you’re invited you’d be able to stay at a Kollel family and really get the feel for it)

I lived in Norfolk for a few years. Most young people are there for the kollel. It used to be you could only stay a few years doing that and then you needed to find a job or move now they do let more families in kollel stay longer. If you are ok with teaching in the school it is a great community.
