Thinking of doing a family getaway to Virginia Beach end of the summer. (Kids ages 10,7,3)
Has anyone ever been and can help with some ideas?
Also what is the best place to stay over shabbos? We were looking into staying in hotel for the week and then renting air bnb over the weekend together with another family.

Also which beach would be the quietest beach to spend the day? Sandbridge? Are there any other quiet beaches ?

Any info or advice greatly appreciated!

I've been there a couple times for Pesach and enjoyed it immensely. In the summer it's a typical beach town. Sandbridge may be less crowded than VB, but it will still be full of women in bikinis everywhere you go. For Shabbos options get in touch with Chabad of Virginia Beach for minyan info and nearby hotels.

It's a real party vibe. Not really conducive to a shabbos feel and it's packed.

If you can, try to get down to outer banks. It's much quieter there.

We stayed in Kitty Hawk North Carolina. It was sooooo nice. Much quieter than Virginia Beach.

I think we rented at a place called Beechwoods.

I don't think there's any organized minyanim in the Outer Banks, unless a private group goes and arranges their own. I also don't think it's substantially different than Sandbridge, which is much closer. Both are definitely quieter than VB, but the beach will still be full of women in bikinis.

We did not stay over shabbos or have minyanim. There is nothing jewish
