Hi I have a ten your old daughter. During the day she is a regular active girl. Rides her bike plays with friends. I am a very caring loving mother. When I see something is wrong with one of my kids I make sure to talk it out with them so they won’t have any fairs. I now have aproblem with this DD. She goes to bed at 8:30 and reads until 9. She then closes her book to go to sleep. She can’t fall asleep. Once she can’t fall asleep she gets so nervous I am going to fall asleep before her which makes her anxious and makes her stay up until 1-2 in the morning. My doctor does not let melatonin.
Any ideas how to help her?

What time does she wake up?
I think her bedtime is too early and it's perpetuating her anxiety that she can't fall asleep because she's waiting too long for it to happen.

If your Dr is not allowing melatonin, do they have another suggestion. Children need sleep for healthy development, they may have other suggestions.

a weighted blanket. It's like a deep massage.

It naturally releases melatonin into the body.

Push her bedtime later. Don’t give her sugar right before bed. Does she have any screen time?
