My youngest (4 yr old) has gotten into this bad sleep pattern that she wakes up in middle of the night and cries and begs to come into my bed.
I have the bad habit of letting her in but I don't know what else to do.
Some background:
She has a very hard time falling asleep ever since she moved out of her crib. She won't sleep in her bed, she is falling asleep near me on the couch in her room. I sit on the couch to play a story for her at bedtime. I also started giving her melatonin because it would takes over an hour for her to fall asleep. If I left before she fell asleep, she runs out and cries and we start all over.
DH and I do not sleep on the same floor as the kids, this means that when she wakes up, she has stumbled half asleep to our floor and refuses to go back to her room. If I want to bring her back to her room I have to carry a screaming child to her floor and to her bed, which she tries to escape from again.
Ok ladies, please help me. What do you advise?
