I’ve been to 2 different camps
One was totally gated in you couldn’t leave without permission
Other one I found a way out
Personally I felt like a caged lion in the first I felt so much better when I used to sneak off camp grounds I never did anything bad just left walked down the block and came back helped me regulate my emotions I had less mood swings but I doubt any mom would want her child running off unsupervised to get air.
I was totally not thinking of security of the girls escaping! If that was my daughter I’d be worried for other reasons.
I’m talking about outsiders c”vs being able to sneak into the camp
Oh that too
Occasionally I would meet a man on the dirt path that basically went to the camp but he usually was near the road technically a creep could’ve came in the way I left.
Sorry I hope I’m not scaring you.
Yes that is scary not sure why that wouldn’t scare any adult (or child). Hence the question
Not too recently I went to camp in hs and I’m now married with a few kids…
As an adult I see why it’s scary as a teen I just needed my freedom didn’t think further than that.
Also it’s not likely that a creep would chance upon the path and realize it led to a girls camp. From the inside it’s easy to get out but from the outside doesn’t seem like the path goes anywhere.
In my admittedly limited experience, girls camps have decent security, boys camps barely have any.
The girls camp I sent to most recently has a 24/7 armed guard (although I doubt it's gated entirely around its huge grounds so presumably someone could sneak in through the forest somewhere)
