Officially exclusive bf, but because baby needs to eat so so often (average 2-3 hrs between feedings) I started supplementing with some solids and or formula, but baby is still NEVER satisfied.

Weight gain is good- baby is exactly following the 50’th percentile curve.

I don’t think my milk is lacking, especially since formula is not making baby happy either. I really don’t know what to do (and no, pediatrician has NOT been helpful).

Idk if it’s just something bothering baby and food helps baby calm down, but then it’s a cycle of bothering again; or does baby have the constant need to suck and a pacifier is not enough?

Also, with the super hot weathers I’m imagining it’s not helping matters- as baby is probably just thirsty too, no?

Any insight, advice and just chizzuk very appreciated. I’m at my wits end In getting this cutie pie happy…

Just wanted to add- we checked for lip and tongue tie and that’s not an issue.
Baby is definitely consuming a lot.

My babies that age eat two big meals of solids. Also they nursed every 3-4 hours still.

Why don’t you start him on solids?

And he can start drinking water from a sippy cup.

Sippy cups aren't reccomended anymore. He should use an open cup ideally or a straw.

Babies have a natural instinct to eat when they're hungry (unless the instinct has been tampered with...)
I would feed him as much as he wants, he can let you know when he's full.

At this age I would offer a bottle with water whenever they want plus 3 small meals a day of proper solids not formula in addition to nursing.
