Mine keeps coming out bad, about to give up. Can you please share your recipes and tips for a yummy cholent? Do u use pastrami, neck bones or kolichel or any other meat? What spices make it yum?

1 onion
1 Tablespoon salt
Table paprika
Table garlic
Sprinkle red pepper flakes
Half cap consemme (osem brand)
Half Tablespoon black pepper-(makes it very hot. Prob only do half)
Sprinkle Brown sugar(a bit more then a tablespoon)
2 tablespoons franks red hot
Fat squirt of ketchup
Flanken or any cholent meat
A Sprinkle of beans
2 potatoes
1 to 1 1/2 cups barley
Cover with hot water. Don’t pour too much. Mix and cook on high for like 4 hours. Lower to keep warm for Shabbos. Sometimes it needs a bit more water but only use hot water. Enjoy!

To make it less spicy leave out some of the hot spices

What size crockpot are you using?
What is wrong with the cholent? Is it dry? Not flavorful?

How is it bad? The consistency? The taste?

Hi! It took me years to develop a yummy concept. I use Kolichel and I sautée three bags of diced onions with the meat. Many hours later I add one two pound container of giant limas and a can of kidney beans a generous amount of rice (I don’t measure) a huge blurp of frum company ketchup and a generous helping of Montreal steak spice. Water to cover. Cover crockpot and cover crockpot with a towel
When you are setting up your bleach for shabbos, adjust water and add a small yerushalayim kugel. And any other treats you like. Pull towel off before lecht bentchin
