I know the boy often gives the girl a necklace in the yichud room. Is there anything classy for the girl to give the boy at that point?

Our wedding was R”H Adar Bet (leap year like this one). I got him a personalized wooden gragger because I knew his old one had broke. My husband loved it.

I once heard a shiur and the speaker asked why the chosson gives a gift but the Kallah doesn't. She explained that the Kallah gives herself to her husband. Her body, her wants, her desires, she gives herself over to her husband. That's her gift
Not to say that she's not allowed to give a gift, was just an interesting explanation

I'll be surprised if this explanation goes down well here, but let's see...

How do you know she has nothing planned?

Interesting idea. My husband gave me my wedding ring (with diamonds, unlike the simple band we got married with). I did, actually, "present" myself to him. We each said words we'd prepared about our commitment to each other.

I don't even know where to begin with that explanation.
When you realize several times in a row that you live on an entirely different planet than so many posters, it's time to take a break from imamother.

Haha yes. That means less than nothing to me. I gave myself fro my husband but he gave himself to me too. Our commitment is mutual.

Countries spent billions to try to see and investigate other planets. You get it for free and you’re running the other way?!

We did not exchange gifts in the yichud room. Neither of us realized it was customary. We broke our fast, snuggled a little, and tidied up for pictures.

I got my husband cufflinks, and had to make sure he wore a french-cuff shirt for the wedding.

We specifically spoke before about not exchanging gifts. We are not in circles where it's "customary". I fail to see why it's customary or necessary. You just got so many gifts and you're in the middle of the biggest party of your life.
