How should I let my principal know that I can't go to work tomorrow? Can I text her? Should I call or email in the morning? Thanx.

Did she give you her cellphone number? Then it makes sense that she is comfortable with your using it to text.
I think it's best to text now and also call the office in the morning, if she doesn't respond before it opens. Be sure to mention where a sub can find lesson plans.
Do I wish you a refuah shleima?

Most schools tell you at the beginning of the year. I would text if it's a normal hour, otherwise email and follow up with a text in the morning.

Obviously I'm too late to answer your question but every school I've worked in has had a clear policy on what to do if you're sick. All the schools requested phone calls between certain hours on the morning of the abscence. They do this to try to deter prople from calling in sick. It's much easier to send an email or a text!
