Just curious where you all fold laundry. I do it straight out of the dryer. I stand and fold each garment as I take it out of the dryer, make a pile on the dryer door and carry it straight out. Its a pain standing for so long and would be much easier to sit, but I know if I'll put it on a bed I wont do it right away and leave it there till, till.....
Do you fold each load separate or wait till you finished washing all loads?

I fold mine and my husbands on my bed, and fold the kids stuff on one of the dressers in their room and just put it in the appropriate dressers..

Mostly on couch. Sometimes on an upstairs bed. That's a ton of bending over to grab each individual piece of clothing right out of the dryer. I place it all in a laundry basket and then dump it at one of the two above mentioned places to fold.
There was an article in Binah magazine with laundry tips a few months ago but of course I don't remember any of them now.

I wait till all the loads of the day have dried (on the outdoor clothesline) and then fold and sort on the bed.
When I was working full time I didn't fold, it just stayed in the baskets till it got worn...

I shake out everything as I take it out of the dryer, so if I can't fold it right away, it won't get creased. I will usually wash a few loads during the day and fold in the afternoon on the couch while my kids play nearby.

How about...wherever there's room? Sometimes it's the couch, sometimes the bed, sometimes the glider, sometimes the change table...

I'll always fold it on the couch, but first put it into a laundry basket. I like doing it after supper when my baby is sleeping and dh in shul!

on top of the washer/dryer... but I am never caught up. I have 2 loads UNfolded on top of there right now, and one in the dryer...
but if I take the laundry out of the laundry area, then it will never get done.

Beds dont work cuz you can leave it there too long (for me anyways) I find the d/r table or couch much more conducive to folding it and putting it away.

how about I wash and dry it andthen it sits in baskets all 10 or more loads till the cleaninglady comes and folds it all. on my dining room table and then I pack it all away right away. she comes 2 times a week.
I dont have time to fold laundry. it can take her more then 2 hrs. and I times myselve too. knh a big family takes along time to fold and pack everything away.

Im sorry to say this, but I dont get how you leave laundry unfolded, doesnt it get terribly creased?? I do my laundry and fold it and put it away, thats part of doing laundry not just getting it clean.

I usually have between 5 and 10 loads waiting to be folded.
It's not out of choice, it just happens, I'm so busy doing other things, and in-between, I'm exchanging loads (I.e. from dryer to basket/bed, and from washer to dryer, plus from hamper to washer) All day long!
And, it gets to the point where I basically use a whole morning just to fold laundry and put away.
We have an extra Queen Bed in the girls room. So - this is where the whole "operation" gets done.....

Can I ask a question?
Right now my kids are young and my family is not that large. G-d willing as my family grows my children will be older. I always assumed that when I got to the point that my family is so large that I am doing 10 loads of laundry for them, some of my children would also be at an age to help deal with it. Right now my 4 and 6 yo take their piles and put them away in the right drawers. My 6yo is also learning how to fold. I have to redo everything she does, but she is in the process of learning.
So anyone with a large family, why leave it for a cleaning lady or take hours to do it yourself? Why aren't the kids helping? I want to know what to expect when I am AI"H in the same situation.

Oh yes, although I do all the folding, my kids do all the putting away (except for mine and dh).
And by taking things out of the dryer right away, I save myself an ironing job, which I hate!
Btw, Mishie, I just love your graphics! Where do you get a picture to match every post?!

Even if I take it out of the dryer right away I anyways iron everything so it doesnt matter really if I take it out right away or leave it there for a few hours after its dry

Re: kids helping out.
My oldest is almost 9. (he's a boy, I think girls are more helpful at that age... plus, he gets home close to 6 pm every day, and I feel bad asking him to do stuff, he's basically half asleep when he walks in... )
But, I do have the kids help me by taking the dry clothing out of the dryer, and putting the wet load into the dryer, and then I turn it on.
At least it saves me from having to bend down again and again all day. It's easier for the the little ones, they're closer to the floor....
(Thanks Mrs. xyz - I just find them on diff. graphics sites... I'm glad you enjoy them!)

The first thing that popped into my head when I read this is "I wonder if she has any kids."
You iron everything? Even if it's not creased?

yes. I have one child, and work full time, but even though, my dh is extremely particular especially with ironed clothes, everything has to be just so. When I got married I had no clue how to iron a shirt, it was part of adjusting (was probably the hardest one) but bh I got used to it, and now I iron everthing ........by now I enjoy doing it.
