I've eaten it at many people's houses. Can someone post a recipe? Thanks!

I do this with flat, wide noodles:

Slice onion into ribbons.
Slice cabbage into ribbons.
Saute in oil until limp.
Season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
Combine with cooked noodles.
Warm it up together before serving, to let the flavors mix.

my recipe:

cook bowtie noodles in salted water until al dente

mix noodles with sauteed cabbage/onions

add salt, sugar, and black pepper to taste

I prepare the cabbage mixture way in advance and freeze in containers. When I want to serve it I cook the noodles and reheat together. I do not use onions though, I sautee the shredded cabbage in oil and add salt, sugar and a pinch white pepper.

First of all to answer your question. Yes it can be made in advance my mother sometimes does that and reheats it for the meal. As for the recipe I use.

A bag of shredded cabbage
A pkg of Bowties
oil for sauteing
salt and pepper to taste

I just saute the cabbage till its soft and then mix it with the cooked bowties.

12 oz. bow tie noodles, cooked
3 Tbsp oil
16 oz. shredded cabbage
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp coarse black pepper

Saute cabbage in a covered frying pan over a super low flame for one hour.
Season with sugar, salt and pepper.
Toss with noodles.
Freezes well as is.

I got the idea to add shredded carrots because the bag of shredded cabbage sometimes has a few pieces of carrots mixed in. It adds a sweetish taste, though I dont usually like overly sweet foods.
