How old are you? Are you a generally healthy person? Would you continue to follow CDC guidance and vaccinate a 6 month old?

How do you think your vaccination help stopped deaths? Do you believe that you can no longer get or spread covid as the CDC said?

35. Yes ka"h. I would not vaccinate a 6 month old. I was not following cdc I was following my doctor and making my own informed decisions as well. It had nothing to do with CDC.

It helped covid not be as deadly and prevalent. No I do not believe that.

Both are mRNA. It's the first time I personally heard of a frum person that gave the shots to their kids. I'm really sighing with relief that you all have no side effects.
May it continue that way.

My mother A"h wasn't so lucky. She got the Pfizer shot and then the booster and within 2 weeks her cancer(she had been in remission) came roaring back- stage 3.
She sadly passed away 6 months later.
We definitely know the booster is what triggered it. The way the vaccine was designed was that it must shut down the T cells otherwise the body would(correctly) reject it. Well guess what happens when the T cells are shut down? Viruses, cancers have free reign..there's nobody to detect their presence.

Correct they were not at risk. I did it because I felt it was important for various reasons (including when there is a pandemic you do proper hishtadlus to help stop the spread).

Op, I'm trying to understand where you're coming from. So far I see lots of words without any expertise or knowledge.

You say you have no regrets. I'm assuming you and your family have no side effects. Boruch hashem. But do you feel you have a strong handle on the pros and cons?

Your "no regrets" comment is like me saying that 3 days ago I drove at 100 MPH in a crowded neighborhood and made it home safely. Nobody got killed and I didn't get a ticket. Therefore I have no regrets.

So when you say you have no regrets, are you coming from an educated place of understanding the risks and rewards, or are you just informing us of your personal story that you took the vaccine and survived but you don't actually understand the risk/reward?

Btw, I took the vaccine.

Did OP hold herself out to be an expert, a researcher, a deep thinker?

She's just a person who took a vaccine - and isn't actively thinking about her choice (which is likely most people who took the vaccine).

I just got the shot - I have gotten all of the recommended shots.

Absolutely no side effects - not even a sore arm.

All of my friends, family have gotten the shot and also to the extent discussed people I interact with like my cleaning lady.

FWIW my older neighbor who I went with got four shots the same day - RSV, second dose of Shingrix, COVID (Moderna) and the flu shot for seniors - nothing but a slightly sore arm from the Shingrix.

Did it make you lose faith in the CDC that they recommend vaccinating 6 month old babies or do you respect their recommendation?

Do you think it's possible that the CDC made this recommendation to help pharmaceutical companies or do you trust they did this in 100% good faith?

Wait, I definitely didn't mean to say I don't believe it helped stop the spread somewhat (amongst other things). If I said that it was a mistake.

I don't know if doc still recommends it, haven't asked in a long time

What do you mean do I have a strong handle on pros and cons? I know for my family there weren't cons. I am not really understanding your question.

No I'm not a medical professional and not super educated about it.

I never had faith in the CDC, or didn't have faith in the CDC. My faith is in Hashem and I trust my doctor as a shaliach of Hashem.

Again, I have no idea about the CDC. My choice to vaccinate had nothing to do with them

I had my 9 year old got vaccinated and boosted and she was totally fine, barely any side effects.
It was enough for her to watch how sick and I and her brother got from Covid that she wanted it.

You started an AMA on the covid vaccine. I'm assuming you have some level of expertise or knowledge aside from the tiniest anecdotal evidence regarding how members of your family turned out. Otherwise what's there for you to say besides your family took the vaccine and is bh doing well?

Do you have educated opinion on the larger vaccine debate or is the scope of your knowledge limited to that you trust hashem and your doctor and took the vaccine?

She wanted to protect her immunocompromised brother which I was proud of. I wouldn’t have forced her but being that she was happy to I was happy she got it.
Now that they are saying to get a 5th or 6th booster we aren’t doing that, but I strongly believe it was the right thing to do at that time.
