okay. Sure whatever you say. I was responding to your comment about regretting a decision.

I regret much more than getting the vaccine. It’s the thoughts and mindset that led up to it. It wasn’t just a oh free shots! Yay. I’ll take ten.
But had I been more informed, and spoken to different people, I would have had a different perspective. Had I not been so scared, I wouldn’t have even thought to get it for one second.
So I regret everything leading up to the shot and then the shot.

And that’s your right. But why do you need to convince OP that she must feel the same way?

My spouse, yes. Thankfully not serious, just autoimmune issues and food allergies.
Me, other than getting sick more than usual in the beginning - which I contribute to the vaccine, and some other weird occurrences, thankfully, no.

Does he regret taking the vaccine?

You started an AMA on the covid vaccine. I'm assuming you have some level of expertise or knowledge aside from the tiniest anecdotal evidence regarding how members of your family turned out. Otherwise what's there for you to say besides your family took the vaccine and is bh doing well?

Do you have educated opinion on the larger vaccine debate or is the scope of your knowledge limited to that you trust hashem and your doctor and took the vaccine?

I don't know. I figured people would ask and I would answer. And yes it's anecdotal. I didn't realize there was a rule that I had to be a medical professional or have expertise to answer.

No I do not. I trust Hashem and my doctor.

Why would you necessarily commend her for that? Just because someone did what they believed was best doesn't mean they didn't make a foolish decision.

Vaccinating and masking babies is just plain stupid. Would you commend the OP if she did this?

Sheesh people really don’t know how to live and let live. Yes, I commend her for doing what she thought was best for her family. How I feel about the vaccine or anything else has nothing to do with this thread. Why can’t people understand that? This isn’t about what you think, or what yellow thinks, or what anyone else thinks. This is about OP and her decision to vaccinate.

I don't mean to give you a hard time. I thought that since you started an AMA on this topic that you knew the data and understood the debate.

Ultimately you're saying that you have no idea about the CDC, other health organizations, or what the data demonstrates 3 years later. You took the vaccine because you trust hashem and your doctor. That's great but you're not really the person to start an ama on this because you can't actually discuss the topic.

Either way I'm glad your ok. Some people who made the same cheshbon as you -trust hashem and my doctor- have side effects and regret it.

Here's something I think about often. Back in the day there were tons of "I took it and I'm fine haha". Well this is the internet. Nobody can come back and update us after they're NOT fine. Usernames tend to disappear, how much more so if they're anonymous.

I'm just saying, like if you took the imamother data points of who said they took the shot originally and are fine, there's zero way to follow up.

Ok, so sorry. I have no right to start an AMA here. You can report it and shut it down. (Btw I wasn't looking to discuss or debate, I was looking to respond about my personal experience, but hey, I guess I should've specified that). Next AMA will come with all the disclaimers.

OP - you're good. You have nothing to prove, so you don't need to provide evidence of anything.

Its become incomprehensible for some people that not everyone makes the decisions the same way they do.

Also if you don't trust stats ever, then you don't trust stats ever. There are plenty of non- imamother stats around reactions to the Covid vaccine.

Anyone can start an AMA about whatever topic they want. Her first post was very clear- I got the vaccine. She didn’t say I’ve researched the vaccine, ask me anything. She never claimed to be an expert in anything. She and her family got vaccinated, she is willing to discuss their experience. She didn’t say ask her about the vaccine, she said ask her about her family’s experience with having been vaccinated.

So question, why vaccinate if they had it already?

I’m not the OP, but the people I know who vaccinated children did it for different reasons:
- you can have covid more than once
- someone in their family is/was immunocompromised
- they wanted to see elderly family members
- they wanted to travel
- they wanted to participate in school sports events

That's fine. I guess I misunderstood. Like I said, usually AMA's are generally started by people have more knowledge than the rest of us. If the op wants to start a thread saying she (along with a over a billion people in the world) got the vaccine because her doctor told her to, and she can't speak to the overall benefits and risk associated, that's fine.

I was interested because I thought the op had what to say on the subject. However, she certainly doesn't need my permission to start an AMA even if she doesn't.

So if one gets covid before the vaccine and after the vaccine, then what is the purpose of the vaccine?

I wanted to get the vaccine but my doctor refused because I had covid already.

Well that has nothing to do with anything. They can get it again worse (technically). Also so they can see my sick dad (although they didn't get to). Also to help the spread.

How does the vaccine slow the spread if they have already antibodies anyways?

I'm sorry about your Dad.

And you didn’t think to look at one study on the vaccine before injecting it into your children’s bodies to see that A- it did not and wasn’t meant to “stop the spread” (that was just a political talking point) and B- it wasn’t tested and approved ?

I can’t imagine putting something into my children’s bodies without researching
I have researched every single vaccine they ever took. And no, I am NOT antivax, but the blind faith people have in injecting their children is mind boggling to me
