I am wondering about whether I should give the DTaP to my two year old.
I am a mother of 5 and in general I wait till my kids are over 3 years old before giving any vaccines.
The difference now is that we live on a homestead with animals and lots of outdoor barefoot time.
For the first time ever, he will be starting daycare, which means he will be out of my own "surveillance" for hours at a time.
My other kids only started school at age 3.
In general I am well educated about vaccines.
But this one is my baby, who came many years after the other kids and my head has been out of the childhood vaccination space, for a long time.
This is the only vaccine I am considering right now.
But I am also concerned that Tipat Chalav will haunt me and hound me to continue vaccinating... if I start. ( We live in Israel).
I would love any updated vaccine info, or to connect with anyone who is currently in this life stage , weighing childhood vaccines.
I will also say, that as a general rule I am quite a sceptic when it comes to modern medicine.
Of course I appreciate and utilize it, but do not subscribe to the mindset that "the doctor always knows best, and do what you are told"
So fear mongering will not work on me.
I am looking for a balanced discussion, or resources to read that can help me come to a decision.
Specific to the DTaP vaccine.
I am not considering any others right now
Thank you!

For starters, is it possible for you to give the tetanus separate from the DTaP? That would be safer for starters.

In my experience tipat chalav doesn't care what you do. I spread ot the vaccines and only give one at a time. Some nurses can be a bit pushy while you are there but no one will call you up and tell you to come in. There is no follow up at all from tipat chalav.

maybe it depends where you live. I am in the north and for a full year they kept calling me to come in. And my baby had never even been there, I have no idea how they even got hole of my number!

Not for under 6 years old category
The DT has thimerisol , so is approved here for ages 6 and up, and DTap is used for younger han 6

It can prevent tetanus. It depends on your perspective on that. You sound like you maybe don't believe that is a risk for you so wouldn't listen to any standard medical advice on this anyway. You can Google if you want to but on here it is skewed against the medical model of healthcare so you are asking those who don't believe this will be effective. Just for context.
Everyone I know including my kids and close family had DTaP and none have any negative consequences of this vaccination. That's my experience.
Wishing you and your children a healthy long life.

Im a tc nurse. Ur right, in certain areas tc follow up much more than others. I work in jeru and from the tikim of the mefunim we got I could def see certain northern and southern tcs really hound parents!
To be absolutely honest, im what u could call cautiously skeptical re vaccines. Living on a homestead, I absolutely would give tetanus. And hep a.
Also a 2yo can get DT. Its quite hard to get hold of, misrad habriut doesnt order many and they (obviously) prefer it to be used by those who actually have a medical contraindication to the full DTap. But it does exist here (from 3months old).

Wow that is really annoying
I have been to two different tipat chalav in the Jerusalem area and they never really cared. Now I know that things are different in other places.
