Poor people are the ones who live in large detached homes with beautiful backyards, own their own cars, and, if teenagers, don't have to work. You can tell they're poor because they need to take out student loans to pay for the $70,000/year Ivy League school they're planning to attend.
People who are complete destitute live in apartments they own in a major city, sleep in their own bedroom, and have plenty of time and money for parties and other social events. You can tell they're super poor because occasionally they talk about how they have no money.

Occasionally, because they don't have the funds to sponsor a cause themselves, they have to make a fundraiser with a budget of only $50,000 to raise $4,000.

This thread is so educational! I am learning so much. Kinda makes we wonder why we discourage screen time? These are fundamentals. Wish I would've learned these in earlier/in school. Would've done so many things differently

Breakfast is always fancy- cup of juice, pancakes, cut up fruit… every morning even when the parents rush to work and have to get 4 kids out in a jiffy. The father always takes a coffee to go.

No one uses disposables on a regular basis. No paper towels, napkins, plastic cups, etc. Everyone uses cloth napkins, rags/dishtowels, and glasses (and don’t forget China every night for dinner-or at least stoneware).

You can get stabbed or shot in the abdominal region but totally not notice until either your best friend or your love interest suddenly looks at you with terrible concern and says "you're hurt!" It is only then that you look down and see blood seeping through your shirt.
Also, you can just totally walk away from a massive explosion in the background, no getting thrown around or singed or anything.
