Text conversations never have a history. When the main character is texting his wife it’s the first message he ever sent her (or any text conversation).

When you drive you can look at the passenger and talk, you don’t need to look at the road.

The shoulder is a very unimportant part of the body. If you're shot in the shoulder it's basically like scraping your knee, it might sting for a moment but you'll shake it off and be running, shooting, and hanging one-handed from cliffs in no time.
