I dont think some of the staff members even understood how to deal with kids. Mrs Weiss once punished a kid for screaming when she saw a spider, forced the kid to go sleep in the younger kids bunk. Literally, late at night got the kid to put on a robe, remove the linen from the bed and shlep with the linen and blanket to another bunk to sleep. All because the kid was scared of a spider.
And Mr. Rosenberg locked a kid in a makeshift cage amongst all the other ridiculous things he did. And the yelling Can't Believe It

I think both of these kids are OTD today. One tried to commit suicide and last I heard is in a coma Crying

And camp time!

But, the simplicity, the girls being creative and coming up with their own fun. Not all the craziness camp has become. Mbr changed things a lot in the world of satmar Camps. The competition was great to stop with the rigidity and have more of a program. But l’masa kids now are spoiled...

I actually had in chodosh that a girl borrowed my Miami boys tape. Counselor (read 10th grade shtinker) took it away and gave it to a ruchnis lady. I was called to the ruchnis lady, she told me I need to send it home. I told her I'll send it home with next bus, and I got it back! Of course I never sent it home...

Omg! I remember when it opened. We had neighbors that went & classmate that her mother was staff. Our entire class got to know every song & motion every year!

Speaking of motions- there was a story circulating back in my camp days (no idea if true though) that the head od complained to mr. kohn that the girls aren’t sleeping & they’re making motions. He came to that bunk, stood to the side & said “gebts aher di motions”.
