oh good I have the same question. Dd trained in summer (2 1/2) and its been three months. When do you start at night?
As it is she goes to the bathroom a lot during the day and always wakes up with a full diaper.

I heard that you should wait until they wake up for 2 weeks dry, however dd NEVER woke up dry so I didn't approach the subject she decided for herself that she didn't want to wear a diaper at night, (after her best friend from gan told her that she doesn't) and that was that, she wet the bed the third night and a couple of times more recently but that was that. We did a chart with sun and raincloud pictures if she woke up dry she stuck a sun on the chart and if she woke up wet she stuck a raincloud on. She needed a full week of sun to do a big sun activity and get a special prize.

As others wrote, when they wake up several nights in a row with a dry diaper, they are ready. Boys may be ready but still have lots of accidents at night. Just take it in stride.
We always take the kids for a pee before we go to bed, but it doesn't always help.

wait till a kid is safe from daytime accidents - then tackle the night ... no drinks after dinner - bathroom before bed - wake them up to go when you go to bed - then first thing in the morning ... this should make them aware of their bladder while sleeping too - so they wake up when they need to go ... it shouldn't take too long ... good luck !!!

im bringing this up again cuz im working on this now.

DD is excited to wake up dry, but it just isnt happening! is there a method how to get them to stay dry at night?

she gets a treat if shes dry in the morning. so far it hasnt happened. I wake her at 11 pm to go (and shes wet already then), put on a new daiper, and she wakes up wet! she tells me shes dry; it obviously happens when she is asleep.

should I just drop it? thing is, she knows shes allowed to wet a pamper, so if I dont focus on it staying dry, shell wet it in the morning instead of going to the bathroom... so do I just keep encouraging her to stay dry? how long can I do that for before her getting frustrated, as she cannot control herself when shes sleeping?

is there anything practical I can do to teach her to wake up to go?

how old is she?

when my dd turns 3, I plan on starting and well see where it goes. what id prob. do at first is put on a nightime diaper or a pull up and then have her go to the bathroom right b4 she goes to sleep and then take her to the bathroom another 2 times and see how it works.

with my other dd, we started when she turned 4, we took her once before we went to sleep and she was dry most nights. after about a month she started waking up from us taking her to the bathroom - as opposed to practically sleepwalking back to bed and instantly falling asleep. dealing with her in middle of her sleep was quite stressfull, so I decided not to wake her up and take her to the bathroom. she had a few accidents but now she stays dry the whole night, or she gets up on her own.

also when kids wear diapers, they make in them without realizing sometimes - even when theyre trained, if ur daughters old enough maybe just try going to underwear and expect to have to change the sheets in middle of the night for a few nights. once she feels that she made it may make a difference in her awareness of staying dry

you just put underwear on them and take them to the bathroom before you go to sleep. they get used to it and start to do it themselves after a few accidents..

you also have to limit how much they drink before bed, and not have them drinking to close to bed time. A lot of kids simply take longer to train, I think its normal for girls to wet the bed as old as 5-6.

Having exact same issue with DD (3) who has been daytime trained since 2.5. I think she doesn't mind making in her diaper...and I don't want to make her feel bad about it. It's just so annoying to deal with wet pj's and linen on school mornings.

I like that sunny and wet chart, think I'll try that.
