Do you have these meats at your butchery? I have occasionally seen pullet, but the two others... never.

pullet is a chicken.
quail is another type of bird, the classification of which is wide, and some quails are kosher, while others are not.
so I've never seen one, though I live out of town.
I have had a quail egg in NY, and it tasted...... like an egg.
very disappointing

In English, we differentiate between pullets, which are young birds that are older than chicks, but not fully grown and proper full grown birds. The first are pullets, the second is chicken.

Quail is not my thing; I once had duck, though. THAT was heaven.

never seen them at a regular butcher (other than in paris! you have the most amazing butcher shops there!). Ive had quail, duck, and other interesting things (deer once- that was oooh mouth watering) at various restaurants in the US and Israel but havent seen such meats in butcher shops dont know their sources....

I didn't even know deer was kosher! Of course, around here the only way to get some is to get a fun and go hunt your own, which hardly counts as shecita, so it doesn't matter.

we don't even HAVE a kosher butcher! come to think of it, we don't have any tref butcher shops, either. those have gone the way of the dinosaur, along with most other specialty shops of yore.

Our supermarket kosher meat section offers chicken, beef, some turkey (not much) and prepackaged sliced deli meats. Rumor has it that if you want goose, duck or bison you can ask the butcher in advance and he can order it for you. That's it! You can't specify what kind of chicken, like capon or pullet or roaster hen--what there is is what you get, take it or leave it.

Well. Buchari do eat betzim (I'm told it's the frum, clean word, so please don't yell at me). My husband ordered them in Israel and convinced me to try... not bad, not bad at all. Just the idea...

I've been told the Romans liked to eat ever. I think some dishes are still made of it. I somehow don't think it's easily found in a kosher butchery. "Shalom! Can I have an ever please!". Actually, I wouldn't go and ask for betzim, either.
