This was the case for my ds he didn't get potty trained till he was almost 4 and he still has issues sometimes. We stopped pushing it and let nature take its course. It seemed the more we pushed him the more resistant he was. What helped us is a trip to the store to buy spiderman undies he picked out and telling him if he had an accident in them he wouldn't be able to wear them again (we washed them and put them away for another month.) It took a talking to by my dh to finally get him to pee in the toilet. My dh told him how upset he was making me because he refused to use the toilet. It worked... where nothing else did.

When she's ready, she'll do it.
Before then, she might, with a lot of heartache for everyone. Or she might not.
Let her wait. She won't go on shidduchim in diapers.

I think you should just make it factual - take away the diapers and leave her home till she uses the toilet ... tell her "little girls do not wear diapers - babies do" ... and buy her a bunch of cute panties ... each time she has an accident have her clean it (with your help of course) and soon she'll see the need ...

Does she go to preschool?
Where I live, you cant go to preschool in diapers, so there isnt much of a choice... I trained my oldest with such hardship and heartache when he was almost 3. it was really hard but I had no choice.

this is a developmental stage that all children will reach, (barring any medical issues). I can pretty much guarantee this. my dd is 3.2 and just trained herself one day (about a month ago). she was simply not ready before that. most people who train thier children are doing it so they can they can send them to school, at least thats what goes on in Williamsburg. I have worked there for 12 years and know this to be a fact, so please dont go and bash me.
anyway, take a deep breath and let her have her diapers. she will tell you when she is ready and all will be well and there willl not be any power struggles.

If I were you I would just take off the diapers and finished. She's too old to be wearing diapers! Eventually she'll get the hang of it.

I know someone who had a really hard time training her son at around 3 years old. Several months later he practically trained himself in one day.

from a developmental perspective, she is not too old for diapers. children can train from 18 months (very early, but possible) until age 4 even a little older. so please dont tell this mom that her daughter is too old for diapers and make her feel badly. op, your daughter will be trained when She is READY!!
just dont get caught up in what others feels is right or wrong.
