$35-$50 in Baltimore. I think $40/$45 is typical here.

I assumed NY was over $50.

You can find cheaper. At least in the 40-50 range.

Ok wow I guess having a freshly done sheitel is a true luxury now. I look forward to seeing people show up to simchas looking like something the cat dragged in because I don't want to be the only one.

Oh so maybe it has gotten more.
Tamara Breitowitz washes my wig. She’s under $50. Pretty sure Orna is under $60. I just looked at her website and it says $45 unless it hasn’t been updated recently.
Also can try Miriam Bromberg. I bet she’s also under $60.

It’s normal for 65-100. It’s nuts. I now wash my sheitals twice a year.

I took a quick course to learn how to do it myself. It was a really smart move. I've more than recouped my money many times over. The only time I go to a professional is for really close weddings.

It’s on the low end. Mine charges 90.

Mine too! And she's not even from the expensive ones...
And this is for a regular wash and set. She charges more for a wedding style.

One of the reasons I don't wear a sheitel anymore... hats, snoods etc that fully cover my hair are it for me.
I work but my office has only seen me in hats so they assume that is all I can wear. I only wear them for weddings.
The cost is just way too high.
I went to someone, she used to be 45. She took my sheitel another time and didn't tell me she was now 55. Glad I had the extra cash on me. Nothing fancy, not super long.

I would do myself but I am all thumbs.

$60/65 in Passaic for regular wash and set
$100 for a fancier/wedding style

Had mine done for $45 in Monsey recently but she was much less experienced

I would love to learn how to do my own wigs, if anyone has any recommendations…

There are plenty YouTube tutorials how to wash your own wig at home.
Places where I live will charge less if you go in just to have the wig styled vs a wash & style.
If you have the time, patience and some skill, you can do your own wigs at home.
The person I purchased my 1st wig from taught me how to wash my wig. I washed my own wigs the first few years of marriage until I no longer had the time to.

Wondering what the norm is, please share location.

In NYC area just sent my wig for a regular wash and blow. Nothing fancy. Lace front but regular top. A little below shoulder length so not especially long either. I was quoted 50. I went for it anyway because I was embarrassed to back out after we'd done a bunch of back and forth on scheduling and stuff but I'm in some shock and definitely not going to do this again anytime soon even though I have zero hair skills.

When was the last time you set your sheitel and where?
