Which is better? Quality? Cost to tag the cat phone? Does fig work with tello and all other carriers? Does cat work with tello and all other carriers? Does either work in Israel? Thanks!

I have an unlocked cat phone with tello. I’m not sure if they all are completely unlocked.
Tag lkwd would not filter when I bought it.
I’m good with computers so was able to programmatically remove everything myself.
Never used in Israel.
Fig is more acceptable/recognizable as a filtered phone.

I bought the cat phone already filtered from BSD kosher phones.
Used in Israel when I was there last month and worked great.

Fig phone is pretty delicate vs the cat phone is supposedly more durable
(Had fig loved it but it slipped of my couch with protective case and outer screen cracked. 8 days of usage there

The cat phone is extremely durable. My kid use it when they go biking and boating and jogging and playing sports. It’s very abused and we’ve had it over a year.
The BSD options look very good. After seeing it im considering buying my next one from them.

Does the cat phone come "pre-tagged"? From BSD?

It's not TAG, but they strip it of anything you don't want, they have a lot of options... Email or no email, hotspot capabilities, Waze, music, etc you can customize it

Is the cat phone quick? Like texting fast or takes a sec to catch up with you?

TAG won't filter cat phones last I heard from multiple locations. This is relatively new within the last year.

Unlocked cat phone cannot be tagged.
They won’t tag it bc in essence it’s an iPhone that happens to look like a flip phone. It’s really a smartphone. I heard a speech about it from rabbi drew of TAG.

An iPhone is proprietary to Apple. It's more similar to an android than an iPhone in its kishkes... But they tag smart phones all the time. I know some people who have put filters on by themselves. We got it kosher out of the box with no Internet browsing or email, etc. We needed a phone with Waze so this is what worked for us. It's not as addictive as a fully smartphone as its a tiny screen and my daughter can't just add apps to it. Just because it's technically smart doesn't in my mind make it worse than my son's Kyocera (which BTW also has Waze thanks to his rebbe who kashered it for him and added it off his own accord so my son will be happy using it even after he starts driving on his own).

Gentech in Lakewood can filter the CAT phone for you.
It runs on Android and has the same problem as all android devices - you can remove the filter easily. Ask around in any yeshiva and they can tell you how.
That being said, I love my CAT
