The train runs through the night also I believe. Just less often.

It runs once an hour through the night, but waiting 40 minutes for a train at 3:00 am isn't fun. And then you have to find transport from the tachana merkazit in Jerusalem. If there are taxis there, they charge a fortune, and if there aren't, it's even worse.
