I always sing songs in my head. Most times I don't play music in my house cause I'm self entertained with my music!

Is this normal? Does anyone have the same experience?
I think I'm one of those not normal people

I dont always sing songs in my head but I had a stage, for a few years, where I answered or said things using lyrics of a song.
when my life was less busy and complicated and I was more fun, this was my norm. my new husband then found it amusing and then annoying. now he sings those answers and I long stopped.

Who cares if it's normal or not, though I can't see what could be "not normal" about it. Being (possibly)more blessed than the average person does not make you abnormal any more than having extremely good eyesight or a really keen sense of smell or a superb memory would make you abnormal. (IDK, maybe everyone "hears" songs inside their head--I don't think there's a difference between "hearing" and "singing" if it's inside your head--but they take it for granted and wouldn't think to mention it.) Enjoy the fact that you can "hear" music wherever you go and don't need to be harnessed to a device to generate music for you.

Very interesting explanation
Thank you

Yeah I do too. And though I’m very musical I rarely listen to music. I actually find it way too distracting to have it in the background. But too boring and not do anything else. So I basically only listen if I’m singing and dancing along, playing along, or am in the car.

Totally normal. And I’m sure you hum along too sometimes without realizing it. I do the same if I’m not full out belting it Smile

OMG same! I usually have at least two songs in my head. sometimes I'll remember a song and then I MUST listen to it or sing the whole thing to get it out of my head or I'll be thinking about it all day. sometimes it's annoying like when I'm accidentally humming out loud waiting for the bus but usually it makes life more interesting...

Not just normal, I think healthy, its great for your mood. As long as it doesnt distract you from stuff you are supposed to be focusing on...
Certainly doesnt hurt anyone...

I think this is probably one of the most normal things in the world.

Certainly right up there with "I enjoy sleeping when it's raining outside" and "hot baths feel good".

BTW there's a term for a tune that sticks in your head and won't go away: earworm. An earworm is often an advertising jingle but could just as easily be the opening to Beethoven's Fifth or Ode to Joy.

For myself, when I notice I have earworms I think it's because I'm anxious.

Isn't that called an earworm,
[ETA came back to comment & didn't see all those earworm posts...]
when a song gets into your head & keeps playing for days? And unfortunately, often ot's a posuk & you're in the bathroom?

BH since Tzahal is in Chermon I've been playing Malchut haChermon (it's [shhhh!] A love song, probably from 70s) so it's okay in the bathroom!

Yes
And when I'm trying to fall asleep in mid of the night, it's the most annoying thing ever
