At such a young age, there is usually a minimal difference in what a PT and an OT would do with a child. There is a shortage of Physical Therapists in the Lakewood area but there are many more Occupational Therapists. My baby had a weakness on one side and I had him evaluated by a PT when he was already receiving OT. The PT said that the OT is covering all needed areas so I don't have to wait for an open PT slot. If you have insurance, you might want to look for a good OT.

It's for weak core. Is that something an OT can address?

I assume so because OTs work on weak core even in older children. However, I am not an OT so don't take my word for it. I really liked the way Rivky Freundlich of Hand 'n Hand Therapy connected with my baby and we saw a lot of progress BH. Not sure if she accepts insurance.

If you are looking for someone who takes your insurance you might want to check with them first to see who is in network. You can post names here and people can respond if they have used them and were happy.
