If you recently made Aliyah…
My furniture, computer aren’t worth that much… thinking with the bedrooms, you have to buy new closets…
Thinking of just bringing suitcases

Personal preference, I guess. You can look into splitting a lift with someone, if you don't care to being furniture, but do you have books you want to bring? Bedlinens? Clothing beyond what fits in your suitcase allowance? Dishes?

This is the direction we are planning on going. My goal is to NOT bring a lift. Will probably end up sending a partial which is just a few boxes of seforim and kitchen stuff. With 4 kids we are alloted 18 check in bags.
This requires major decluttering and basically a freeze on any new items coming into the house. Every purchase I ask myself if it will be coming with us or not. Every day I am getting rid of stuff.
This is obviously not something everyone can do. For us, our furniture is all second hand and literally falling apart. I never purchased new furniture outside of our sofas so getting rid of it isn't distressing to me. For families who have gorgeous expensive furniture I would think they would bring it along. Also, bed sizes are different in Israel so our plan is to just buy there.
