And no I don't think it's rude to expect one compliment about a meal I slaved over.
Not ten compliments, not five compliments, just one phrase of acknowledgement is accepted behavior. |
To appreciate a compliment is not rude. To EXPECT (!) one is. And you're expecting big time. That you're considering not inviting a guest --and mishpacha, at that--because she failed to genuflect at the shrine of Your Magnificence, simply boggles the mind. Thank G-d you're not my sil.

I was so turned off. When I eat out I make sure to compliment every course.
She is ultra shy but I think besides for that she comes across as more of a cold person.
What's your take on this? |
I would also feel ackward if she verbally doesn't express how she felt in your home. On the other hand, her perspective might be a total overload, and she could have been so shy, that she totally hid inside her head. I won't judge, I would assume, if she is shy, she was overloaded by anxiety. Give her a chance, she might feel so so uncomfortable around strangers.
