My 18 month old toddler appears to have a lazy eye. At first it was subtle, but then everyone started telling me so I took him to the pediatrician who agreed, and sent me to eye doc. I’m so nervous, does anyone have experience with this?

Yes. Don't be nervous. I took my daughter to an eye doc who told me my daughter had poor vision, astigmatism etc. I went into shabbos crying. I went to the steele practice for a second opinion and saw dr furlan (he's amazing. and based in bp if you need). He told me to patch her and BH she's doing great.
Where are you located?

Where are you located? | Monsey. I’m going to see dr Schwartz who’s supposed to be very good. How did your daughter handle a patch? My son can’t even hold a band aid on his finger for more than 5 seconds.

In Dr Weingarten practice? If yes, she's very good. My dd got glasses when she was 2 for her lazy eye after being told by another Dr that she'll need surgery. She's 6 now and her eye is better than before. She's above grade level with reading and overall doing grt. As a side note, she looks adorable in her glasses.

They can't take it off its sticky. Use baby oil to take it off btw. She was fine with it but got annoyed too. She's BH better now. Only has a lazy eye when she is super tired and its rare (she is 3 now). I go to dr. furlan for check ups every year. he is happy with everything.
