When you're out and there's no bathroom

Your answer may be different depending on whether you live in Israel or outside of Israel, but what do you do when you're away from home, your kid has to make and there is no public bathroom nearby. Since DS2 has almost completed training, I definitely find a discreet place outside and let him go there, rather than have him hold it in or have an accident. This rarely ever happens with DS1, but the other day when he saw I let DS2 go in the bushes, he too pulled down his pants and started to go. I lightly chastised him, told him he was too old for that and knows better and that I only let DS2 go since he's in training. Of course in Israel you see older kids and even men (gross!) going in public sometimes... Just wondering until how old (if ever) you let your child make outside.

I boought a portable potty. Basically it's collapsable and you put a plastic bag in it and they can just go when there's no bathroom and all you do is throw the bag in the garbage. easy. Sanitary. And it fits in my stroller. I use it when I go to the playground bc dd ALWAYS needs to use the bathroom when we're there..

unfortunatly, recently I was walking back to my car with my kids to see a boy standing on the sidewalk, with his pants around his ankles, going on the street in front of the car!! I was appalled! There was nothing hiding him and the rest of the family was standing near by. And this was a busy area. What goes through these people's heads!!! Exploding anger

the boy was maybe 7 or 8. I backed up before leaving my parkin spot so I wouldn't roll over it!
Gross!

Any age, they should have been more private than that. He wasn't try to hide anything. My kids got a (short) lesson in anatomy before I rushed them into the car.

Since mine is in training, I'd rather have him go in the bushes than have an accident while we try to find a bathroom or rush home. You could say the same thing about being mechalel Shabbos. At some point you teach them they're too old for that and show them the proper way.
