My mom makes pesach grape juice in September, when grapes are in season. Does that count?

(No, I did not inherit her Hungarian genes. I still haven’t cooked for Chanukah.)

For last Chanuka, or next??

And yes, grape juice in September counts!

Our otherwise tiny house has a second kitchen which we use as Pesach kitchen. And the idea here is being able to start cooking for Pesach late. Because there is no hassle of deep-cleaning the main kitchen, the week before Pesach is good enough to waltz into the Pesach kitchen and do it there and then.
I'll be fair and add that we do NOT invite 30 guests or so. We are a small family and make a small Seder. With pretty fresh food.

Not a joke. I'm serious.

I don’t start cooking a week before . I start cooking 2.5 days before . And I’m the type who has LOTS of food .

It's funny when people say 'I cook for 2 days before' or 'I cook for 2 weeks before...', when actually both spend the same number of hours cooking.
Some people like to cook a few hours here and there over a longer period, and others find it easier to have a 2 day blitz.
It's just different styles, but the subject seems to rile people up as this thread shows!

I always thought how UNbalabustish and UNgeshikt one must be to need more than a week - maybe 10 days to cook food for a week.
Like are you that slow moving?

People aren't cooking for 10 days straight (I hope)!

Lol some people find it less stressful to make one or 2 things each day. More relaxed pace than marathon cooking.

I've done both, cooked ahead and done a 2 day coking marathon-been making Pesach for 30 years. Still don't know which way's more relaxing... Doing ahead means you're cleaning & cooking together, last minute is standing for too many hours..but at least you're not dealing with chometz together.
Bottom line, Pesach's hard work whichever way you look at it!

I love a last minute adrenaline rush. This years great because there’s a full shabbos to recuperate before the Seder.

Cerulean, you don't have to cook yet; start with organizing your closets and drawers and washing them down. Leave the cooking for right before or after Purim.

This is what I'm trying to do due between Purim and Pesach IY"H.
