If you lost a nice amount of weight, I would say 30+lbs., and are keeping it down for at least 3 years already, what weight loss method/program have you done, and do you have any motivating/inspirational messages to share?

At risk of getting tomatoed off the internet by the anti-diet folks, I will proudly say that I have been on the Rambam diet for 10 years. It was a fad when I started but helped me tremendously with a lot of GI issues I was having and knocked off 22 pounds. Still reference the book occasionally, I’ll link it at the end of my post. No specific motivational messages but what keeps me going is the incredible feeling of being able to inhale and not feeling like the air is getting trapped in the region of my small intestine. For years I didn’t have that and it created so many problems. Hatzlacha to you!

It’s hard to some up the whole book in one post but it’s largely based on the principles that the Rambam outlines for improving gut health. He believed the best way to stay healthy is to keep things moving through the digestive system. If stuff remains stagnant, that’s where bacteria hangs out and that’s how people get sick. The diet is based on those principles and caters to the 21st century lifestyle. It’s less about cutting out foods and more intention to what time of day you eat certain things, and not mixing things together that slow down digestion. That’s a very brief nutshell. I highly recommend the book

I lost a bunch of weight by cutting out sugar and sugar substitutes. I've been doing it for almost 3 years now. It was really hard in the beginning but after a few months I have zero cravings and zero appetite for sugary food. Sugar is an addiction and when you don't eat it you don't crave it anymore. I eat 3 big balanced meals a day and I'm not hungry in between meals.

I lost 40 pounds with eliminating most processed and junk food and sticking to only two meals a day, only one has carbs. If I ever want to eat more, than I can adjust my plan for chanuka. Even when I eat more for a week of simchos or YT, I always lose it when I get back on my own custom made plan.

Intermittent fasting was a game changer for me. I think it was mainly that I ate a lot of calories at night when I craved them but now my brain knows not to eat after 6:30/7 so it’s not an issue anymore. On shabbos I eat what I want but I lose wtvr I gained by mon/tue

Yes I mainly eat healthy all week and enjoy treats on shabbos. I exercise about 5 days a week as well.
(Im the one who makes the modest movement videos) Although I did notice on vacation days when I didn’t eat healthy, as long as I stopped eating around 4 (because I was still so full from a big lunch anyway) then it didn’t affect my weight. It’s good to eat healthy anyway since it affects how you feel and in terms of health for your body.
Hope this helps!
