Right. And yet an ima who "loves winter" is moaning that Chanukah, which she seems to feel is synonymous with "winter's last gasp," is over and therefore so is winter. Isn't she in for a pleasant surprise? The rest of us, not so much.

And I always knew that Chanukah is when it starts snowing.
Wouldn’t winter die from a three month long gasp alone?

As far as I'm concerned, winter doesn't even get started till February, which is when most of the blizzards of my memory have taken place. (Usually on Fridays.) And we have had blizzards a week before Pesach, in APRIL.

Looks like the southeast will get the brunt of it. My forecast for the northeast shows typical winter weather.

We're getting it now in the UK. It's freezing!!
Slippery on the ground. It's hard to open my car doors, they're stuck with ice.
I don't like driving in this weather but the kids need to be fetched from school tomorrow . My dh takes them in the morning bH.

UK doesn’t handle extreme heat OR extreme cold very well.
Personally the cold reminds me of my childhood when our faces and toes would go numb walking home from school
