My mind went to and then we will have a post about your kid having pandas. Just treat it properly with antibiotics. The same people who are pro natural also claim pandas is widespread. It really makes no sense.

Which med was he on? Most kids are immune to some and need stronger ones.

You can try a different antibiotics
I wouldn't play around with something like this. My father once told me that a friend of his almost lost a leg because the strep went into his bloodstream.
My husband got an eye infection from untreated strep and that was only after a week.
Antibiotics is there for a reason!

Amoxicillin never works for my son. I always have the dr prescribe something else, such as cefdinir

I wouldn't. Complications from strep can get deadly. It's serious.
Especially for me, when I get strep I always get super sick, like 104 fevers and vomiting, but after 24hrs on antibiotics I'm much better.

Pandas comes from a dysregulated immune system which very often begins in the gut.
Untreated strep can lead to pandas, but only if the terrain is already weak.
Many kids who have taken rounds of antibiotics still get pandas. In fact, antibiotic use contributes directly to gut dysbiosis which is a leading cause of autoimmunity.
Treating with natural, alternative treatments is not the same as leaving it untreated.
Everything has risks.

I treated my kids with antibiotics every single time they tested positive for strep. Two of them still got pandas. I don't think pandas is from untreated strep. It's from the immune system having an inappropriate reaction to a strep infection.

My kid got pandas because the strep medicine didn't work. I even did 2 rounds.
I then treated with homeopathy but if anyone gets strep in this house we all get abx.

Strep is not that common in adults. If you're getting it every year, maybe you should look into alternative healthcare. Not even necessarily while infected with strep but more for overall health and boosting your immune system so that this isn't happening to you every year. At minimum I'd look into very good quality probiotics after a course of antibiotics. Taking a strong course of antibiotics annually wreaks havoc on the gut where health begins.

Strep needs to be treated in anyone ages 2 to 20 with antibiotics. As an adult, I never treat.

this just shows your ignorance...
pandas is not necessarily from untreated strep. Sometimes it means strep became a superbug and the antibiotics are not working the way it should; and therefore you have to go with a different route.
speaking from experience.

Strep will almost always heal on its own without antibiotics. Antibiotics are prescribed to prevent rheumatic fever. The risk of rheumatic fever is highest between ages 2 to 15 and then it reduces significantly after age 20.
That is why people ages 2 to 20 should receive antibiotics for strep and should not treat it naturally.
This is the medical standard. Please understand I am pro all vaccines, flu vaccine for everyone, covid for whoever wants it, for reference.

I had a child that got strep 10 times in 12 months. Went to an ENT regarding removing tonsils. He told me that the strep was living in my son’s gut, not his tonsils. Which is why he was getting perianal strep and scarlet fever, not classic strep. Put him on a stronger antibiotic for 3 weeks. After that, per the ENT, he gargled with salt water plus a pinch of baking soda for the next month. This combo did the trick. Health food store told me to do an enema and fermented vegetables for his gut
Etc. I couldn’t stand the smell of the sealed container. How did I think a 4 your old would
Actually taste it? $100 into the garbage.
To this day, every time anyone has strep (or feels like they are coming down with it), we make sure to use the ENT recommended saltwater gargle. It’s pretty effective at if you feel like you’re coming down with something as well, b4 it gets bad, it generally helps as well.
I wouldn’t skip antibiotics though, as a different child of mine already had guttate psoriasis from untreated strep we missed.

I know 2 adults with this attitude who died from strep. It’s kinda stupid to think and say this.
