Just curious if most family parties are kids geared where they’re the focus?
Or do they get to come along but should barely be seen or heard?

Games mostly for kids or adults?

Definitely kids - honestly there are so many of them it would kind of be hard for them to be ignored.

Beyond kid friendly. Why ever not? And if not, why bring them?

Very much geared to the kids, but we all have several kids at least so it wouldn't make sense to not be....

Theoretically kid friendly.

But one side, the party had 20 kids between 2-20, but most of the kids were over 11 or so. So the conversation and games were tween and young teen geared. The younger ones might have been a bit ignored.

At the other party, most of the kids were baby-10. The activities were geared towards them, and the three or four teenagers just sat there being as bored as anything and left as soon as it was polite to.

It's hard when there's such a wide age range.

We don't have parties as such. We have family visits, and since all our kids have young kids, there's no way to exclude them. Not that we make them the focus with games and entertainment. When you get more than a couple of kids together, they find ways to entertain themselves. The hard part is seeing to it that nothing and no one is injured in the process.

Really depends on the year and who can attend, some years it's mostly teens and adults and focuses on them some years more little kid focused. But there's always toys for the kids and somewhere for them to play. As the family grows bh there are more adults for big party games so that's always fun and the kids can either participate on their level or not.
