No coconut or avocado oil with funny taste
Is there an alternative to canola oil that doesn’t taste off that I can use in baking as well as frying

I use avocado. I can't taste it. At all. I bake everything with it. Cook everything with it. If it tastes weird to you, try another brand. I also once got a weird bottle. But it should have zero distinct taste.

Avocado oil shouldn't have any funny tastes.
I switched to sunflower oil for everything except frying (I use avocado for that) noone ever said anything. Cakes are still just as delicious so is kugel and everything else. Even just in salad or mashed eggs. No difference.

I would also like a neutral oil. I have a family member allergic to avocado.

I've switched to grapeseed oil for baking. The food tastes exactly the same as it does with canola.

This. I've tried some other brands that were nasty, but Chosen is consistently good.

sunflower oil and grapeseed oil are processed the same way canola oil is. So it's no healthier.
Light olive oil is processed with heat and loses some of it's health benefits in the process, though it doesn't seem to be AS bad as the other oils.

Can anyone point me to legit sources about the health benefits vs dangers of canola oil?

I thought grapeseed is cold pressed, so not as bad. Am I wrong?

I just googled it. Grapeseed is whats leftover after grapes are pressed for wine. They are then processed similar to howncanola and soy oils are processed.
