After many years of holding off, I finally purchased new duvet sets on Black Friday! As happens, my child just soiled it. So I took a look at the care label and it says that it is dry clean only.
I’ve never heard of this before - do people actually send bedding to dry cleaners? What should I do?

Linen? Or blanket?
What is it made of?

Is the duvet dry clean only, or the blanket underneath?
I've never heard of such a thing for duvet covers. Depending on the fabric content, you could try washing it on a gentle cycle, then hanging to dry?

It’s the duvet cover. I purchased mine from a frum store and don’t seem to find the fabric content listed in english…

If you can put the google translate app on your phone, you can use that to take a picture of the label (if it's words) and it will translate it for you.

Oh how very practical.
Never heard of such things. But then again I don't have very fancy bedding.

Same. But, everyone is different.

This is not particularly fancy linen at all. This has nothing to do with anyone being fancy.
I never would have imagined that it was dry clean only … I only discovered that since I looked at label wanting to wash properly

I remember once taking blankets that had been sick upon, to the dry cleaners. But I do not recall if that was part of the washing instructions or my mom just didn't want to deal with the sick.
But it is not unheard of to have dry clean linen.
It's very upsetting to immediately have to launder something and sooner than you expected. You said you got this on Amazon, do you have the link? Maybe check the review/questions to see if any laundry instructions are there?

Thank you for this response! It’s good to know that this isn’t unheard of - so for the future I know to actually check that any linen I buy is machine washable …
I purchased this from a frum store that ran a local Black Friday sale. So I couldn’t locate any links to this online.
(Honestly I never would have signed up for dry clean only linen because I can’t even imagine how much it would cost to keep clean…)
Thinking I will wash on the gentlest cycle and hang to dry and hope for the best …
