Yup. We have been priced out of the daycares in our area since they have increased in price significantly due to being able to fill up with kids on vouchers. Ironically my husband and I who work full time can no longer afford to send to the daycare who actually have full time hours

Yup, same thing happened with section 8. And then disaster sets in when government pulls back the funds because prices won't drop.

When the Lakewood schools got money from COVID I called and asked for a break. The administrator (actually a nice guy) said they don't know how much or when they'll see the money so I read the amount and the dates to him that I found online alongside every school's name. It was public info, did he think parents wouldn't find it? He did end up giving us a lower monthly fee.
If vouchers comes to Lakewood and shoots up tuition, it'll be the same as what CHS did to daycare here. Even private Morahs went up.

So CHS uses much more moros for the same number of kids. So there is a morah shortage and the price of each morah goes up.
If there are tuition vouchers then how would the school's expenses go up? I don't see how it's comparable.

Some examples:
Going back a few decades, rent was approximately $800 for an apartment in my part of town. Then section 8 vouchers became available, and the rates jumped to 1200.00. When we complained, the landlord justified it by saying that we are still saving money, because we are now only paying 400 instead of $800. (He was getting $800 from sec8 and we were to pay 'only' $400)
Another example:
Some apartments were going for $1k. Sec8 approved it for $1300. So all similar apartments now raised the rent to $1300.
So what's the end result? If someone is not eligible for sec8, or the funds are no longer available, the rates don't drop. And now everyone is stuck with the high rates.
Vouchers will just be a repeat scenario.

Exactly and I cant afford to move to a bigger apartment because we dont have section 8 and the rents are through the roof

Look at Florida. They have vouchers and tuition is sky high.
My friend who lives in Florida said not to fight for it bec it does nothing for parents.

FINALLY some one else understands! Yes it is TRUE! its the same thing with the rents etc. Its with food also . MIDDLE CLASS PEOPLE CAN NOT KEEP UP WITH THE SICK INFLATED GOVERNMENT PRICES! I want to scream! All of the sudden the school wants 15k tuition with out the voucher! What happened with accepting the amount we paid ALL these past years? No I can not produce paperwork to qualify and yes I know the income limit has been raised but we still don't qualify by a small margin and no I can not work less hours else I lose the whole job. Its just frightening! Its the same with housing as others said. We need to keep up with the insane prices the government set to rent a three bedroom because the city FHEPS pays a sick amount. Go figure. I am tired of this and most people dont understand.

Yes I know someone who just got onto hud. Her apartment is not hud approved..she had to move. The apartment she moved to is hardly bigger and she is paying just as much rent even after hud
