Many schools give out toilet paper but not tissues

this is an issue in public schools to, years ago I remember schools in Staten Island asking parents for a ream of paper for copies one even asked for light bulb.
It was a way of cash poor schools to get the parents to pay for supplies.

My girls need to bring tissues from home.
In preschool it's part of the school supplies list and teachers ask for more boxes throughout the year as needed
Just seems comical, like I'm paying thousands in tuition, just use $5-$10 from there for my daughter's tissues!

Its easier in elementary if each girl has her own tissue box on her desk

Wait, you don’t enjoy the sandpaper effect those paper towels are giving your nose? 🤷

My sons mesivta, told the boys they can't afford coffee, so they should bring from home.

It didn't occur for me to think where my tuition is going, because how far does $12,600 go after paying rent/mortgage and rabbeim.

Same for girls school tuition, they don't consider tissues mandatory but you have to provide something in the bathroom. A kid has a cold, they need to be supplied from home.

Lol, dds hs was going through a very hard time at one point and literally limited the toilet paper! Someone once knocked over a bottle of water, there was no paper towel, so dd asked the office for paper towel. They gave her 1! paper towel. Dd asked me to donate a box of plastic spoons because there was nothing to eat with. Bh they are in a better financial spot now.

So don't take your toilet paper for granted! LOL LOL

Tuition is a huge struggle but I’d gladly donate a box of tissues or plastic ware or paper towels once ins a while

Because the school stocks the bathrooms but the teacher stocks the classroom

I have a similar question but regarding supply fees. Why charge a few hundred dollars in supply fees and then ask parents to send in tissues? Just increase the supply fee by a few dollars and buy tissues by the case.

Anon because I asked the principal of the school this very question and he had no good answer. He said that the school asks students to bring in tissues so that everyone will have their own, but couldn't explain why they couldn't just charge $5 more and buy a case of tissues for the class. It seems so inefficient and the teachers spend the first few weeks of school reminding parents to send them in.
