amother OP wrote: | I'll add it! You reminded me of another school related chesed. I work in a school, and when my wonderful boss saw I was struggling, between appointments, emergencies etc, she suggested I take 3 months off, then reassess. She promised me she'll keep my job open for me. I was hesitant, as it gave me some normality, esp since I'd been there a while. I was familiar with everyone, I could just 'be', I didn't have to pretend I was coping, or not!
As it turned out, my son was transferred to a hospital a couple of hours away, so I had to take a few months off. I ended up taking 8 months off, and just knowing my job was waiting for me, was a huge blessing!
I actually didn't realize what a brocho it was, until I returned to work. My whole indentity for that period was 'Mom of a sick kid', and getting back into life is very scary at times.
Firstly, when there let's say, a swelling on the PEG site, it's 'call the RN', his oxygen's dropping, it's 'call the hosp, do we come straight in or wait?' I was grateful for sure, but it was scary.
Secondly, I'd forgotten how normal life worked! Had I had to find a new job, new people, etc it would've been so so hard! Like this, I just slipped back into the familar place, with familiar people which really helped me adjust to real life again. Although I'm still adjusting..it'll take time. |
Wow what an amazing school. But really Am Yisroel is bh just beyond amazing. I remember doing payroll and someone was out for Shivah and my boss was discussing about payroll and I don’t remember if he said first that we should anyway pay or I did but either way we did.

Be'H I hope you'll soon write a post like this one. At the time you feel like it'll be like this forever, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I hope and pray you'll see it soon! May Hashem send the good people in the world to support you, and help you. Wishing your dc a refuah sh'leima very soon!

Yes BH it's a wonderful school! I'm so grateful that this is the school where I send my daughters, they don't just 'talk' chinuch, they give it!
