can I sub oil for melted butter in cookie recipe?
I understand it wont be the same if the recipe calls for cut butter or creamed butter but the butter is anyway melted will it make such a diff?
or should I sub a 3/4 cup oil cos butter is not complete fat but also has water?

If it's melted butter it's not a problem.

You can sub oil and the product will be fine, but expect the texture to be somewhat less firm and greasier.

I would measure out 3/4 cup oil but don’t add it all at once. Start with 1/2 cup and if the cookie dough seems the right consistency stop there. If it seems too dry slowly add the rest.

The cookies will taste fine but will not hold their shape as well so if it's sugar cookies that you cut with a cookie cutter they won't look as nice.

That’s probably going to be too much.

If the recipe calls for 1 stick, which is a half a cup, I will sub 1/3 c. oil.
I've been doing this for yers.

I've been doing this for yers. | You can also freeze the oil in advance if you want, it'll give you consistency.

I do this almost every single week
3/4 cup oil equals 1 c. margarine or butter
I also do with sugar cookies which cut fine and every other cookie or cake recipe
Comes out really good

I tried with a 3/4 cup of oil.
its crumbly the dough. it doesnt hold together and its oily.
really it was ok to mix by hand but but gently mixed it in the mixer with the wired beaters just pulsing it.
it was perfect texture when I did it with butter but maybe I need to use the dough hook?
more oil will help or just make it greasy and still crumbly?
